We did not have to buy the extra inserts, because we could use cloth diaper inserts when needed. However, the peejamas helped to cue them around night time urine retention. Unlike diapers they can pull the peejamas off and on, so that gives them a bit more autonomy. For the amount I paid I thought they would at least send me the complete product. I will say they are soft and offered a glimmer of hope to a kid desperate to be out of pull-ups, but they’re still bulky, which maintains the diaper look and feel my not-really-a-baby-anymore dislikes so much.

Make sure your little one does some squats or ballerina moves so that you can ensure that the product has a proper fit into their crotch area.
I use the shorts with a booster every night. Even with proper fit, my daughter has peed through this (she is not a heavy wetter at all).
Both the shorts and the boosters take all day in the sun to dry. Make sure to plan for that when buying the right amount. I have 2 pairs and need to wash them each morning to make sure one is clean for each night.
I expected a little more but it will have to do to replace the cost of pull ups every night. After 2 weeks of using the product, my little one is not any closer to night time potty training.
